"Welcome! Welcome to my humble Oikos! You are lucky to have caught me at home. I have just returned from Alexandria in Egypt where I have been studying the writings of Hermes Trismegistus and I now plan to study the use of herbs. At the same time, I will be studying to be a Hiereus of Dionysus to follow in the family tradition. There is so much to learn in one lifetime. But where are my manners? Is there anything in the way of food or drink that I can bring you?"
As you look around you see a stone pillar on the right of the door which is dedicated to Apollo Patroos and protects my oikos from physical intrusions. A stone pillar on the left with the three faces is dedicated to triple faced Hecate and protects my oikos from magical intrusions or kers (evil spirits). Carved into the lintel above the door is an inscription "Let no evil enter here!"
