Welcome to the church of San Vitale in Ravenna, the administrative center of the Roman Empire in the West. I am a deacon here at this new church, which was built in the Greek style by the finest architects and artisans from Byzantium by order of Bishop Maxentius in honor of His Imperial Majesty Justinian.
