I am a proud Mongol!
Mongol is a name that is feared through out the world, and it should be.
One day when the Khan was on his way to punish the Tanghud people , his horsewhip fell onto the ground.
When his guards were about to pick it up for him, he stopped them and said,
" This must have a reason, I see this place is a very nice place , a place for deer to graze, for hoopoes to lay eggs, a place for shattered nations to be rebuild and for lives to be enjoyed, bury me here after my death."
After his death, his shirts, yurts and socks were buried there (Ordos) and a false announcement was given, that the Khan was buried there".
After the Khan's death in 1227, his body was buried secretly according to our custom. The burial place still remains as a secret (most likely somewhere in the Altai Mountain).
"He [Chingis Khan] ordered women accompanying the troops to do the work and perform the duties of the men, while the latter were absent fighting."
This again points to a high degree of complementary partnership between the sexes among the Mongols.
