Welcome to my Domus! As you wander through my house you will discover places that serve as my homebase for certain activities. In the Courtyard I conduct my social activities here at AncientWorlds and at Rome. My Library is for my historical and academic pursuits. Finally, in my Study you will find my game playing scores, statistics and artifacts.

My Domus is situated on the southern slope of the Palatine where the Oleanders flower and the nightingales salute each whispering of the stars.

Thanks for visiting my home!

"...Higher in the space the fragrance of the star still disappears; near us a rose is breathing ..." - (Ver erat) Ausonius

I enclose
the sweet scent of a rose
as a silent language
ment for desire.
When springtime-dew
on petals grow
there is but need to know
one name of love and fire.
Out of foam on roaring waves
her floral-flame was born
and yet at dusk and at dawn
the sky above is her home.

Palilia3.jpg

There is a time for bitterness
and a time for mourning,
but today at dawn, without warning
the Robin saluted the early morning
with a prayer for joy.
Brave little bird stay! Rejoice!
May your voice be heard
until the end of the day.

No Ruz Festival - Babylon - Springfest 2004

A ship is sailing through the night
with a precious cargo of love and light
whenever FRIENDSHIP is in sight
you can understand its ensign,
between two points a straight line.

Arturus Rex

Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero !
Horatius 65-8 BC.

The trees are on guard at the beach,
the mountains rear stones
all the way up to the evasive answers
of the clouds in the sky
but as a silverfish or a diving bird
is the nature of the soul
transiently revealed.

In endless nights seek on a riverside
a weeping willow flooded in dreams
and fall asleep on it's fallen leaves.
Peel the rind of the bitter fruit
and taste the sweet scent of light
for darkness can all by it self
shoot a star from behind
and turn a poets mind
into a wind so weak and blind
that nobody can tell
it has ever blown
in the vast and empty
land of the past.

The walls are not there
soon the roof has disappeared
uncovering the eyes in the sky
and they are so many
glowing light-years in the past
that it is easy to go astray.
Tonight is here and now
for you and me
a wide-open moment
and a question to ask.
Tomorrow will forever be
an unopened gift
to long for
but never grasp.

You say
that you love departures,
that you like to see new places,
live different lives
and dance different dances.
What has happened
to the enchanting glances
and the song so often heard
between the strong beats
of your heart ?

The heavy scent of lilacs
and the tune of a warbler
have taught me
that love is a fleeting vision.
Flowers wither,songs expire
and the lights burn out
on the wings of the trees,
but still I shall love,
even when my voice
has drowned in the deep
my love will live
in an embracing wave.

The sky rests on the lake
and it’s smile flows through
the shades of the trees.
The songs are dancing
shapes of light on the path
but the inconceivable
is a rose in the forest.

And yet in the darkest corner of the night,
in the deepest despair of the soul,
there is a light shining through the disguise.
I believe in you because in your eyes
the star of hope is mirrored twice.

This is such a night
when you and the moon
are wearing silver-dresses
and all that matters
are quiet letters.

To amuse my Muse I write :

Once time and light appeared
as dancing foam on trembling strings
and matter though complex,
the splendor of a rose
was hidden in charges of electrons
a surface so frail that it still disintegrates
if thoughts try to grasp its purpose and meaning.

I hope that this is not a farewell blind
‘cause bliss I’ll miss and rime and hug
and the witty time in a town down south
where my Muse with a crown of a smile
saves the end of the file that I left behind.

Travelling between two sides,
each day on a bridge
leaving behind words I know,
a stranger among wings
above a creased sheet.
The profound sea passes by
as a frozen picture
learnt by heart.
Once your hand held mine
in a promise of some kind
and a poem from earlier days
was brought to mind.
A world antique approved
each prosperous line,
but now a smile in may
has passed a year,
what more has vanished
in the solid circle of the time.
