You might be wondering as to who I am, and why I built myself a homesite here at AncientSites. If so, in order to appease your curiousity, let me introduce myself:
I have for a long time had a predilection for the Greek culture, in particular the mythology and the new kind of warfare that stems back to the age of Solon's reforms, i.e. the hoplites. 19 years old (which was a year ago), I decided to join a basic course in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at Stockholm University in Sweden. Passing it in early January 2004, I proceeded on my way to a profound knowledge of the history of Ancient Greece, its conspicuous art as well as Greek literature and the Roman culture.
In May 2004, me, my group of students and two of our lecturers / archaeologists went to Copenhagen, Denmark, and the extensive collections of ancient art, beholding and analyzing sculpture and pottery from Greece, Egypt and Rome. The NY Carlsberg Glyptotek, from which my avatar is photographed, is in my opinion the most interesting museum, housing mostly original sculptures. But there is also a collection of plaster casts down the harbour.
As you can tell from looking at the image below, I'm a confirmed fan of the RTS game "Age of Mythology" by Ensemble Studios. This screenshot was made during a Screenshot Contest held last fall.
