 Welcome to the noble house of Gnaeus Cato Domitius Ahenobarbus! Please introduce yourself and stay awhile. I am a busy man. I own and control much of Roma. Many do not know that, but it is very true. Come and tour my domus where you will meet my many clients, read my fine books, and enjoy my works of art.
At my entranceway, you can see my statue of Venus. Venus is my family's patron goddess. She is the goddess of love and beauty. She is the daughter of Zeus and Dione in 'The Iliad.' She is said to have sprung from the foam of the sea from a place near Cythera, from where she was transported to Cyprus. She became the laughter loving goddess, who laughed sweetly or mockingly at those whose wiles she conquered. She is the irrestible Lady who stole away the wits of the wise.
I am a romanticist at heart. I love the fairer sex and appreciate their beauty and fine accomplishments. But while I am seen by some as a lover, others see me as a villain. Being a member of the Domitius Ahenobarbus gens of the notorious Nero, many men view me as rough,harsh, arrogant and cruel, while my favored Ladies see me as amorous, passionate, loving and tender.
