"Dear Ladies, kind Gents I am here to announce that a great cloud hangs over Monsalvat this day.
"In her blind fury over several events that include something about a Barbarian losing the joust and the disappearance of many of the Knights' weapons along with some terrible affliction that has overcome Sirs Othello and Thidrek, Zee Mad Queen has seen fit to behead a half dozen guards, a stable hand and the Chief Organizer of the Monsalvat Faire."

*allows the audience a moment to let it all sink in as she slowly sips another cup*

"But what does that mean for the rest of the Faire?" A concerned Princess from Eastern lands asks.

"What about the purses to be won?" A worried Knight in peril of losing his retainers bellows from the rear of the Great Hall.

"Tender Ladies and Brave Knights, please; I implore you we, well, me the Jester and an unknown accomplice have decided to carry on this day as usual. The Hand to Hand combat will take place as scheduled as will the Pie Throwing Contest.
The only difference is that in the Pie Throwing Contest we've changed the rules somewhat."

*the crowd collectively gasps*
"Yes, yes. We have captured the Queen and have tied her down so that those of you who had entered this contest can throw the pies at her."

*I've got their attention now*
"The rules are thus:
" In order to pick up each of your pies, you must provide a witty jest, song, phrase, joke or my personal favourite; a taunt.
" You will get up to 3 shots at the Queen
" We'll have the Queen available for this event until the stroke of Midnight (assuming the vicar still has his head)
" My not yet named partner in crime will judge who had the best jeer and that person will win the larger purse.



"And in case you're all too afraid of taunting the Queen, we have found a chemist who assures us that we have purchased the best sedative known to mankind and we will ensure that you can leave the Castle without incurring the Queen's wrath."

*Everyone begins to filter out of the Great Hall*

"A final note before everyone leaves!"

*they all mumble under their breaths*

"If anyone is interested; the stable boy and the guards who perished in the last 24 hours will be laid to rest after matins on Tuesday at Les Soeurs de La Cite church.
The Chief Organizer's funeral will be held the next day at La Cathedrale de Notre Dame where the Bourbon Haberdashery Choir will sing the hymns of St Someone while accompanied by Madame Colombe's dulcet tones."
