Sit back and take it easy from all that hunting and touring! Take a quiz and have some fun! Find out which Babylonian Goddess
or God you are. *The lovely graphics of the goddesses and gods are created by Odin Knudsson.

Are you ready to find out...

    ISHTAR

You are the goddess Ishtar. As a goddess of love and war, you give off a vibe of sensuality. But it can, at times, be dangerous to be your lover. When you feel wronged, you have no qualms about cutting those who harm you off at the knees. Once your fiery temper has a chance to cool, however, you can be persuaded to forgive.

    ERESHKIGAL

My, aren’t you dark and deadly? As Ereshkigal, Queen of the Underworld, you are both revered and feared. Once men and women, god or goddess enter your realm, they can never leave. Your rule is supreme! You are the goddess of death, and your husband, Nergal, is the god of plagues. You and your consort are quite happy with each other (at least you think so!). It is you, however, who has the final judgment over souls.

    TASHMETUM

Your name, Tashmetum, means “the granting of requests”. You are a diplomat of sorts. People come to you with prayers and requests for intervention. You are seen as a merciful mediator. But, this isn’t the only aspect of your character. You are also seen as a protectress from evil. In your youth, under the name Nanaya, you were come to for the goodness of love and potency. Your spouse is Nabu, Devine Scribe of Destinies.

    ZARPANITUM

You are the goddess Zarpanitum (Sarpanitum). As the goddess of childbirth, you are a nurturer by nature. You are often depicted as being pregnant and are worshipped via the rising moon. Your husband is the Supreme, Babylonian God, Marduk.

Are you ready to find out...

    MARDUK

You are Marduk, Deity Extraordinaire. In the Enuma Elish (Epic of Creation), you kill the goddess Tiamat and make way for the younger gods (yourself) to come forward and reign. Although you make war when necessary, you have other, more endearing, traits. You are associated with: white magic, wisdom, water and vegetation and judgment. You are a sun god to your people, and as such help to ensure their health and growth. Your wife is Zaranitum, Goddess of Childbirth.

    NERGAL

As the God of Plagues, Nergal, you are quite comfortable in the land of the dead. Here you rule, alongside your wife, Ereshkigal, Queen of the Underworld. You don’t seem to like men, worthless creatures that they are, and are often depicted as trampling one under your foot. You are also associated with forest fires and fever. Your symbols are the scimitar and single or double-headed lion scepter. You will later become associated with the Greek Herakles.

    NABU

As Nabu, you are the son of Babylon’s Supreme God, Marduk. You will later rule alongside him in supremacy, but we’ll keep that our little secret. You are the Devine Scribe of Destinies, as well as the God of Scribes and of writing. Your wife is the “Merciful Mediator”, Tashmetum. Your symbol is a writing stylus, sometimes resting on a clay tablet. Later, you will become associated with the Greek Apollo.

    SIN

You are the Moon God, Sin. You’ve had supremacy, although are now a subordinate of the Babylonian Pantheon, in your station since Sumerian times. You are the god of nomads, due to your association with the moon. Your symbol is the crescent moon and your beast, the lion-dragon.
