Ms. Davis is the British author of the Marcus Didius Falco series. She is a clever, humorous writer who makes ancient Rome seem real. One can feel the heat of summer, the frozen wintertime in Britain (where Marcus was a slave in a mine once), and smell the disgusting stairwell up to his 6th floor apartment.
Marcus Didius is the ancient Roman equivalent of a detective, an informer.
