From the Outer Hebrides to the Cornwall Shoals celtic choral music has flourished in the United Kingdom and the Western European continent for nearly two millennium. Many modern vocal groups still sing the songs of the ancient church and the masses. This tradition of a cappella, "in the style of the chapel", choir singing lasted from sometime between the times of St. Ambrose (4th century) and Gregory the Great (6th century) up to the present. In this selection of The Celtic Music Box we will explore some of the celtic a capella musical ensemble pieces.
