Welcome to Inti Raymi, celebrated in honor of the Sun (Inti) on its New Year, which is June 24th on the Incas' sundail, the Pacha Unachaq. The greatest festival of the fallen Inca Empire, the Inti Raymi has since been restored in Qosqo and today is the second largest event in all South America, drawing over 200 thousand visitors. The modern celebration not only exalts the link between sun and man as its ancient predecessor did, but also recalls the glory of the empire which once celebrated it.
