The Festival of the Sun, Qosqo's prime event, welcomes the winter solstice on June 24th.

Select from the list of festival activities:
Welcome to Inti Raymi, celebrated in honor of the Sun (Inti) on its New Year, which is June 24th on the Incas' sundail, the Pacha Unachaq. The greatest festival of the fallen Inca Empire, the Inti Raymi has since been restored in Qosqo and today is the second largest event in all South America, drawing over 200 thousand visitors. The modern celebration not only exalts the link between sun and man as its ancient predecessor did, but also recalls the glory of the empire which once celebrated it.

Well here's a very simple question to be asking! We've tried to answer it for you. Learn about the god Inti, the original Inti Raymi and its downfall, the return of the festival and its modern presentation.
Someone has opened the pen of the Inti Raymi sacrificial sheep! With help, they can be gathered back together from the places across the Americas they have wandered. Can you help us?
Do you think you know the sun gods of the world? Take this fun quiz to really find out! Participation and winner plaques at the end of the quiz.
