Let the Games begin! From June 23rd through June 25th, the group, I, Claudius: Adventures in Julio-Claudian Rome is hosting a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the BBC production of I, Claudius. There will be several activities including a drinking game, gladiator shows, name that tune, trivia quiz and much more.

The festivities are brought to you by the slightly skewed folks at the AW group I, Claudius: Adventures in Julio Claudian Rome . The festivities will take place June 23rd through June 25th on the festival board accessible from the main Rome page.

I, Claudius Trivia Quiz :

The Roman Banquet

Join us on Saturday, June 24th for a classic Roman banquet brought to you by women who really ought not to be seen around food: Messalina and the poison queen Livia Augustus. The food will be delicious, but be careful! You may go home wih more than a tummy ache from stuffing yourself ---- that is, if you ever get home.

The I, Claudius Drinking Game

Join us here, too, as we drink ourselves silly watching the famous BBC broadcast from the 70's. You can get the rules for the game here, where you can also sign up to participate.

Gladiator Games

Come and take your chances in the arena with Titus Pullo and others as we hold the first annual AW Gladiator Games on Friday, June 23rd. Cut and slash with sicas and swords. Skewer with tuna fish harpoons and cast your nets over your opponents. You can read the rules for the game and sign up on the I, Claudius Celebration games board here.
