Tucked away in a quiet corner of The Otherlands is a little neighborhood pub that goes by the name of Brighid’s Bruidean. Your hostess is Brighid the Barmaid, a young and unassuming incarnation of the Goddess of the same name. There is an ample supply of mead, ale, and other quaffs of the ancient Celts, courtesy of Brighid the Brewer. The bread at the Bruidean is "out-of-this-world", so to speak, supplied by Brighid the Baker. Entertainment is supplied by none other than Brighid the Bard.
On any given night, you’re likely to find an assortment of Celtic Gods and Goddesses sitting about the old place. Sometimes a stranger, lost in The Otherlands, might wander in and join in the fun. One of the mainstays of the place is old Gobby. In his younger days (or was that another incarnation?) he was known as Goibniu the Smith. Sad to say, time and gravity, and a few too many pints, have taken their toll. His mighty chest has become a massive "beer belly" and his arms are better suited to lifting a flagon than a hammer. From time to time, most usually on a Friday night, the old boy will bring along the missus! Sure enough, old Biddy will be sitting by the hearthfire, sipping her mead and humming along with the music. Would you believe it? The old girl once looked just like our sweet barmaid. Most likely that’s because Biddy is an older version of Brighid Bright Arrow. Look at her eyes and you’ll see I speak the truth.
