All periods of Ancient Greece to Modern times have been passionately attached to music and dancing.
In Ancient Greece music preceeded reading and writing. The name 'music' is derived from the Muses, the godesses who rule all intellectual and artistic activities. The Greeks considered music the most fundamental element and aptest symbol of culture.
