There is an island in the middle of Logh Oirbsen (now Loch Corrib) known as Inis án Ghaill, or known as the Isle of the Stranger. Many believe it was St. Patrick himself to whom the island refers...but the name is much older. Before there was a Christian temple, there was an healing center, a place of rest and comfort for those who are considered too close to the end to turn back.
