the Summer of Sorrow OOC thread

he passing of Beltaine traditionally signals
the beginning of the raiding season in the Celtic lands. From Beltaine
till Samhain, cattle roam summer pastures and roving bands of raiders
ride free. Join us as we re-live the good old days of tribal kings and
queens, cattle lords, feasts and famines, hostages, inter-clan alliances
and family feuds.
The wolves of Magh Croimor are now stalking the raths and villages of
Celtia. If you hear a howling in the hills, it may be more ominous than
you think. This season is sworn to be a...SUMMER OF SORROW!
The scenario is early first-millenium Ireland. The stage has been set
from the ending of last year's story...
The raiding season ended in the horrific battle of Dun Ailinn in the
boglands to the south of Inver Colpa. The death of the Niafer war-chief
Dobhar was finally avenged with the bloody demise of Hadaig the Night
Raven under MacMorna's grisly battle hammer.
Flidais, Rian of Niafer, narrowly escaped her doom as a royal
sacrifice at the hands of the evil druid Morann. At the peak of the
chaotic battle, the outlaw chieftain Nion was apparently devoured by the
bog, leaving the renegade band in the leadership of his young son Sean
and his Telltown bride, a sidhe-woman known as Winter Mist.
Although the Rian was rescued and Hadaig was slain, there was no
decisive victory in this battle. The summer ended with both sides
limping home to lick their wounds, keen for their dead, and gather the
survivors for what will surely be a SUMMER OF SORROW!
Choose your allies - the good, the bad or simply the ugly - and
join us for another Summer of brawling, bragging, raiding and ravaging
through the 'hoods of Celtia!
Where will the outlaws strike first?
Will the Niafers ride again as the legendary guardians of Tara?
What fresh twists and intrigues are in store for us all before
Samhain calls another year's uneasy truce?
Are YOU strong enough to
survive the Summer of Sorrow?
