For discussion of the impact from the increasing danger from foreign invasion and Rome's faltering powers in Britain in the fourth and fifth centuries, A.D.
Throughout the fourth century, Rome's external struggles sapped manpower from Britain while its own citizens tried to take up the slack. For administrative reforms, the Saxon shore defences, and the increasing paralysis of Rome within British life, leading to the Rescript of Honorius: 350-410 A.D.
