Copan Historical Thread

Copan is one of the most closely investigated of the Maya cities - it played a large role in the foundation of dynasties and was involved in the relationship between the Maya and Teotihuacan. At its center is a man-made hill, created from the accumulation of buildings built one on top of each other - the efforts of sixteen kings in total.
