Fionn MacCuimhaill in his many guises is the most popular of Irish heroes.
Finn MacCool has many aspects to his character, providing ample material for fascinating discussion. He is best known as the leader of the Fianna, an elite Irish war band. He has also been portrayed as a giant, a foolish old man, and an Arthurian-style king. Who was the real Finn? Or does it matter?
