His name has become a byword for Imperial excess before he was forced into suicide at age 31.
37 - 68 AD. Son of Agrippina, great-great-great-grandson of Augustus, Nero became Emperor upon the alleged murder of his step-father, Claudius. His reign from 54-68 embodies all that is notorious about his dynasty, of which he was the last.
