Hasdings and Silings no more, Vandals unite! Come to Carthage, for the year long festival 'Year of the Vandal'
You may wonder why a Visigoth, cares about such things, yet I am named after the lands taken by them, but I am as you are.
Vandal brothers and sisters, there was a time when the needs of our peoples were served by smaller bands.When the hours were filled with dread watching for the armies of the Toga people and our own distant cousins.
Now under Mighty King Gaiseric we are one people, with a common heritage and a common tongue.No more do we fear the armies of our enemies, for it is us that they now fear!
All of this sea is ours for the taking, every city, every villa, every laden vessel.
Therefore in accordance with King Gaiseric's proclamation, to celebrate the taking of our new Capitol in Carthago, year 440 shall be proclaimed, year one , of the Vandal.
Carthago as the Imperial City of His Majesty, shall start the year long festival at I January 440 (that's January first 2009 according to some calenders.)
There shall be games, and tests of skills worthy of a vandal.
Statue smashing, grafitti contests, and old fashioned book burnings!
Some come Vandals, to Carthago and be reunited with your brothers and sisters in joyfull celebration!
