It has been very dry for three weeks, but yesterday we were blessed with over four inches of rain. It alternated between misty drizzle and downpour, all day and night. Now it has turned cold... well cold for here.
I spent a very enjoyable evening, last night. Attended a presentation of Native American flute music by a gentleman named TwoHawks. I was unaware that he is practically a neighbor, living some 25 miles up the road.
TwoHawks played a number of different flutes, accompanied by drums, rattles, bells (on his ankles), and a didgeree-doo (definitely not American *G*). His daughter also sang on a couple of the songs. He writes most of his own arrangements.
All in all, it was very pleasant. Though I would classify it as more of the eclectic/fusion genre than true NA music, I found myself doing a lot of toe-tapping.
If you are interested, you can view the Music of TwoHawks website, which was actually created by his primary drummer (and didgeree-doo player). Snippets of his music are played in the background. You can listen to more of his music (and buy his CD's) at a site called CD Baby. His albums are:
Sends A Voice, and
Changes.
