Which is fine by me. I happen to think the Picts are the cat's meow, especially the Caith (the Cat people). The Picts apparently mixed their Ps & Qs (P-Goidelic/Brythonic and Q-Goidelic/Gaelic).

The word ceann is Gaelic, while mraich is the Welsh (Brythonic) word for malt. The Welsh word for head and leader is penn so this would make you a Penn Mraich, the plural of which is Penn Mreichiau, at least I think it is.

My guess is based that on the Gaulish word breichiau, which is the plural of brace and means malt. In Gaulish you would be the Penno Brace, and if you were chief of several malts, Penno Breichiau.

You prolly know all this, Vort, but I'm on a linguistic roll here, which is what happens when you introduce beer into the picture...you suddenly get smarter, like in the illustrations of Beer Street and Gin Lane.
