Hi everyone,
Fenian had mentioned some confusion regarding the purpose of GoldFest and what it means to us here in Celtia. It seems that every year GoldFest runs close to Samhain and that the planning seems to go hand in hand. There have been time when Celtia was last in the lineup, and Samhain was really close behind so we have been able to combine the two festivals, thereby killing the proverbial two birds with one stone.
The fundamental difference between the two is that GoldFest is a sitewide event that allows didfferent cities to "highlight" their city to the rest of Ancient Worlds by putting on contests, tours, and games or whatevver else that city decides to celebrate while the residents of other cities come and party.
Samhain is a festival that is solely in Celtia, where no other city takes part in this contest. It seems that we have Samhain pretty much covered, which is good because it is definitely going to be the larger festival, where Goldfest is only for one day. I posted a few ideas a while back, but it appears to have gotten buried in all the other posts. My idea is only to have a resident tour, where people will submit their residences to a main board and they will be put in a ring tour where people can cruise by and sign their guest book. I just love seeing the different things people do with their residences around here. I know not very exciting, but it is an idea.
Katlyn has also been working on a project where she asked for volunteers.
Also, just to clarify a few things as far as dates and what not. Goldfest is going to be held in Celtia October 18, and is the second to last city. Samhain is going to be "officially" starting Thursday, November 1 and ending on Saturday the 3rd.
Bridgette is currently working on a schedule for both events, but we need to get some good, solid activities set down before she will be able to set up times.
I hope this will help in clearing up any confusion in regards to the two events.
