    To ascribe the fall of Rome to any single event is simply hard to believe. There are many reasons why the Roman Empire finally imploded, but to say that it fell due to a single event is disingenuous at best. It appears that the author of that article was simply drawing parallels between an ancient historical event, and modern history to further a personal political agenda.
