HOMER is neither pacifist nor warmonger as he has been accused of being. He values the noble qualities of a warrior_courage, fortitude, ingenuity, self discipline, but was also aware of the terrible grief of war. For Homer, one man's glory was another's sorrow. The sorrow is felt as deep as the glory.
