It had started to rain and Odovacar had been fighting for what seemed like hours. He was very tired and the wound he had received from the Vandal sword cut deep into his shoulder. Since he could still swing his battle ax he knew the the sword did not do that much damage. He was bleeding a lot but he did not have time to stop fighting and stanch the flowing blood.

The group he had joined under the leadership of the one called Thiudareiks had driven the Valdals away from the Red Boar. Odovacar continued to swing his huge battle ax and seemed to get his second wind. The day is getting on and I must be on my way to the East he thought. I must kill as many Vandals now as possible and continue my journey. That is when he saw the huge black war horse with the man with the strange weapon riding towards them.

Odovacar happened to glance to his right and that is when he saw them. The seven of them standing there in the wood line not very far away leaning on their spears and grinning at him like idiots! He wondered how long they had been standing there watching him? "Kinsmen, I do not want to deprive you of partaking in a good fight. You have my permission to join me. There are plenty of Vandals to go around." he called to them with a laugh! "You are doing so well kinsman that we did not want to interfer." called his cousin Baldur with a grin. They dropped their packs and with a great shout they immediately ran to him and joined in the fray.
