I have a Sheba Inu, in short a miniature Akita, he is bred to kill vermin, however on my two and half acres the only thing he has killed is kittens, tonight tallied a total of 3 kittens since he found his way here. The final two kittens came from the same litter, the last one happened last night, my daughter went out to give scraps to the dogs and the next thing, I hear her screaming, "Mom! Mom!" I looked out the window and yelled at the same time in response. I see her holding Chico's chain and she's crying, "He got a kitten!" I ran out and Tigger was seizing, I knew he was dying and my daughter had Chico by the chain and was bawling, as it was the second kitten she saw Chico kill firsthand. She loves animals. She would never normally hurt an animal, but she smacked him on the snout and chastized him. I was torn, my daughter and I were hurting over a kitten and Chico was acting on his instincts. I will miss Tigger, he was fun, playful, sociable, curious and a sweet heart, but I can't stay mad at chico, he's a personality. I hate being mad at my dog when he's just being himself and I really hate that my daughter witnessed two "murders" as she see it.
