It's good to know your new rescues found a good home.
Car rides are generally stressful on any cat not used to travelling (especially if when they do travel it's only to the vet). Bring along some bedding that has scents they are used to, and make sure you have a safe place in advance away from the coast that will take cats. Next, I'd suppose leaving when they say "leave!" will mean less time spent in traffic.
Hope this helps. While I'm far from usual hurricane zones, I've thought about evacuation needs even here. I know I'd have to -- very un-panickly -- separate the two phobic cats from each other, and catch them before collecting the other two cats. (If one sees what's happening to the other, I'll never catch the second phobic one.)
I hope you never have to do this, of course.
