Apologies for taking so long in putting up a question here! But here at last...

Traditionally this herb was long used for strewing and cleansing sacred places. Today it is most often used as an expectorant and stomach tonic, to treat bronchitis and respiratory infections, and for cuts and bruises. In the garden it is said to be a good companion plant to cabbage and attracts pollinating insects.
