It had been a long day. Germania and Susannah returned to the Villa weary, dusty and very hungry.
“Tomorrow we can go out and look again if you are up to it,” Susannah said.
Germania plopped on the very comfortable couch and put her feet up. “If it’s a nice day, I won’t mind. But let’s have a bigger breakfast first as I am starved.”
Susannah disappeared into the kitchen and then returned with some wine. “I agree. It was a very long walk and with so few neighbors home these days, we could spend another day just walking and walking.”
“It is too bad you don’t have a slave. Perhaps we can pool our resources together and buy one.”
Susannah smiled. “I suppose, though honestly I don’t mind fixing thing myself. “
“This is a good sized city and we shouldn’t have to walk everywhere to get things or if we do go out, it would be nice to have something waiting when we got back.”
Susannah handed Germania one goblet of wine while she kept the other. “All right, then we shall sleep on it and consider it.”
Germania smiled and sipped her wine.
