I experienced one of those "doh!" moments back in the spring. I'm actually fairly good at raising mint plants. (Let's face it, peppermint generally will really take off unless you do something to kill it--so it's been the plant for me.)

I bought some seedlings before it had really gotten hot here and decided that I'd better keep them inside until I was sure that the chance for frost had passed.

So I cut the containers apart, put them up in my windowsills so that they could have some sun and felt rather proud of myself, foreseeing that I'd have enough of a crop to have fresh mint iced tea almost each day over the summer.

It was the second day that my cats discovered the plants. I came home from work to find the containers all dumped--dirt piles were beneath each window and two of the cats were still growling at each other over who got the plants that hadn't been entirely chewed up.

    Not a single plant survived.

I bought a few more plants, but they went straight outside. I might be dense, but I ain't no dummy! ;o)
