The man who would be the consort of the Princess Ariadne of Crete, must be the bravest and best of men. He must be willing to face the bulls in the arena." The crowd is silent, and the music stops. Many have been brought here as a reward for service to Crete. Now only the young and strong would be able to compete, unless they offer up a stand in. The bull leaping is the favorite sport of my father. He is pleased that I have made this only request.
