“Romeo is the best tracker I have ever known.” I’m sure Mari said something else however the pride in her voice as she spoke of Romeo has me distracted.

We make our way out to a courtyard and continue our discussion. Thankfully not a few moments pass before wine is brought.

Now I am unsure of what or even how ask. Why would she want to bring me to a place and to her ‘favorite room’ where her and Romeo…

I close me eyes and turn facing the marble fountain.
I can feel the tension grow between us. It is, to say the least, an uncomfortable subject matter.

“A while back, when you were taken, I remember Georgios and Paton mentioning something about you and Romeo. At the time I was unsure of its truth, thinking it may just have been men talking.”

It is not a question and no answer is required. Privately I am hoping she continues, for at the core I need to know if they are done.
