Rome (and the other worlds) is a vast city, confusing to navigate at first , but worth the exploration! First, may I bid you welcome and hope that you'll get nicely settled in presently!

Often, the best place to start is at home: click on your name anywhere you see it highlighted (in the narrow yellow bar just below the "AncientWorlds" masthead or on the com panel: the narrow window that usually opens in a new window to the left of your main viewing screen. Don't see such a beast? Ensure that you allow pop-ups for AncientWorlds, and you may need to add the comm panel server to your trusted sites as well -- it depends on your machine and your browser.

Once you're at your home, you'll see a space you can customise with personal statements about your interests and read messages left for you by other citizens (often there's a welcoming committee trotting 'round new citizens' homes with welcome notes). Eventually, your home site will list the discussion groups you belong to and "virtual properties" you have purchased with virtual cash, which you will receive in allowance form for every day you log in.

There are several links to take note of as you explore your home -- by your first name, you will see the nomen, or surname, that you chose when you registered. Click on it and you'll see a list of citizens who registered under that family name.

There's also a menu bar above your name at home. Click on "Rome" (Ancientworlds > Rome). Click on it to start exploring Rome, its groups, provinces, and discussion boards. Explore the Subura, for starters and you'll see some of the discussion boards devoted to festivals which often occur during the course of the year.

Lucilla, I hope this helps make you feel a bit less overwhelmed. Once you have figured out the comm panel, please feel free to send an instant message or 'gram to any of the "demigods," or site administrators, or to one of the "Scribes" or moderators. We are here to help!

Again, a hearty welcome to you!
