PRESENTS AN EXHIBITION OF THE NATIVE AMERICAN CRAFT OF BASKETRY
Here we present baskets from the Native Americans
peoples. In basketry they are unsurpassed. No other culture has ever
taken basket weaving to such heights, Native American baskets retain
the highest standards in history. Enter and enjoy the best there
has ever been, the baskets of Native America.
Here is a design for an introductory page for an
exhibition of baskets at MOA.It is flexible. I present only a general
scheme. The basket design used is original. I designed it and own
the copyright automatically for 2 years.
The problem with this exhibit
has been in the back of my mind from the beginning and it won't
go away. In order to do this right and in a legal and professional
manner, each basket shown should have a written e mail permission
from the owner of the object. In most cases the photograph
will be the property of the owner as it is what is legally
called a," work done for hire ." That is, if the
owner paid a photographer for the picture, the publication
rights to the picture belong to the owner who has commissioned
its creation.
That means that for each of the ten featured
baskets, we shall have to have permission for one time publication
of its image. We will have to agree to credit the owner and,
if the photographer has retained rights to publication, the photographer.
A much simpler way would be to make an offer
to a single gallery where these objects are for sale. We would
be in effect, advertising their goods in exchange for the one
time right to publication and a link to their point of sale.
Chances are really slim that any AW member
is going to buy a $45,000.00 basket, but hey, it could happen
and the ad is free.
Perhaps we might make an effort to include
some baskets in the lowest price range in order to increase
the chances for a sale from the gallery.
I would suggest The Qualla Arts And Crafts
Mutual as a good chice.Would someone write a nice letter to
them and tell them about Ancient Worlds and The Americas and
MOTA and see what they think of the idea? It should be
mentioned that The Americas On AW have 2125 registered members. |
