Excellent suggestion, Glaisne. The Flight of the Earls would indeed provide some fertile ground for discussion here, as it is a massive turning point in Irish history. You've pointed out something about the boards and threads, and that's the fact that we are missing a giant chunk of history in Ireland's timeline. I think when the group was first setting up, the focus was to be solely on "ancient" history in keeping with the general focus of Celtia, which was originally intended to be pre-St Patrick. Obviously that's out the window now, but generally speaking in all Ancient Worlds, with regard to Irish history in particular, keeping to an ancient historical focus usually avoids any potentially volatile political discussions. You'll notice the board entitled "Struggles of the 18th - 21st Centuries" is notably barren, which silently speaks of...something, although I'm not sure what. Anyway, you have brought up a good point, the group has a gaping hole that needs filled. I'll get to work on creating a new board which will include among other things a thread for discussion of the Flight of the Earls, will try to have it up and running as soon as possible. Meantime, if you have any more suggestions, please do post or leave a message on my scroll.
