There are a couple of modern museums in Egypt, Imhotep museum which I posted about earlier, there is also the modern Nubian msueum at Aswen and I´ll get back to that alter. For now, pelase take a look at the wonderful Luxor Museum. Here are two links, one with info the other one with better pics. (The first one has the irritating habit of watermarking the pics which, in my opinion disturbs viewing although I realize of course the reason why one would want to add those stamps)
So check out for info The Luxor Museum here and take a look at some gorgeous statuary here.
I´ve visited there three times now and am as breathless every time. Nowhere have I fallen in such a trance in front of the Hathor statue or the golden cow´s head from the tomb of TutAnkhAmun, which is there. It is all so aesthetically laid out, so well presented, so totally not overloading you when you walk around in there. Having worked in a museum myself for years, I am so happy to say this is the result of care, knowledge and love. And the best of it - there is good hope that the new Cairo Museum which is projected on the Ghiza Plateau, will be along the lines of these new streamlined museums.
