I return to Cruithni Crafts in the early evening after a busy day at the stables, hoping Ruaidri will have some good news for me about Sabio. It was a productive. I finally got an excellent trade for the Connamara pony. A beautiful dress was a very agreeable exchange, and it fits me perfectly. I will save it to wear at Lugh's feast. It was good to be back in Tara again and find all the horses here stayed healthy. Sabio's limp was on my mind all day. I've never seen a horse with his spirit, fire and elegance. It would be a tragedy if the magnificent Iberian was lamed by the broken shoe.
I try not to blame myself. It was an accident, it could have happened to any horse anywhere. Perhaps if I'd watched him more closely. Perhaps if we'd taken a different route.
Shaking my head to clear away the thoughts that circle like ravens, I pause to peer into the smoky room of the forge and call out for Ruaidri.
