Hey everyone, managed to find a little time to catch up with you all and my sadly neglected group.

CC, love the short story idea, can't wait to read it.

    Ok,as promised, Lil's story......

Lili's due date was February 17th, (which incidentally was the same due date given to my mother 38 years earlier for me!!) As I was coming up to my 8th month, I kept asking my doctor if I could have Lili before her due date, as I was impatient to meet my daughter.

At 8 and 1/2 months my visits to the dr became weekly, and I had an appointment for January 31st, and as usual I asked my usual question. I even went as far as to ask him if I could have her on my birthday, February 1st, but he said no, so I said, well what about the 5th, so he checked Lili out on the monitor, and said that by Monday 5th she should have a good birth weight, and I could have my baby.

My husband, Andros, poor bugger was totally bewildered, as everything had happened so fast, he asked the dr twice if he heard right!!

That weekend was a flurry of last minute stuff, but in the meantime I had to contend with my parents, and to a somewhat lesser degree, my husbands, disapproval of my impatience, as concerned the baby.

I had noticed for a few days, that Lili wasn't her usual active self, but I put it down to her being nearly full term. Monday morning arrived, and after not sleeping at all the night before, we arrived at the clinic where I was to have Lili. I told the dr that her ladyship was a little quiet, so he checked her out on the monitor, which was where we saw that the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck, and she had probably been like that since Saturday.

If I hadn't been impatient to meet my daughter before time, by the time of my next scheduled appointment, February 7th, we would have lost our daughter, as there was no way she could have survived from Saturday until Wednesday with the cord around her throat.

I'm just glad that my doctor trusted my judgement, and agreed to let me have her early. Anyway, I didn't panic when the doc told us that I'd have to have an emergency C section, and in fact I was calming Andros down!! He phoned my parents and told them what was happening, as I'd been due to have a natural birth, so they stared to freak out too. Can you imagine what it was like trying to calm down 3 near hysterical people?!!

Long story short, time for my op came around, went into theatre, had my baby, the most precious being in the world, healthy and perfect in every way.

Moral of this story? Always trust your instinct, as rarely does it lead you wrong, as I proved. By the way, I almost forgot, I believe my daughter has 2 guardian angels, my late grandfather, and Andros' late father, and they were the ones who helped me to make a pest of my self to the doctor!

Lili and I had been home from the clinic about 2 or 3 days, and one night, I swear I saw 2 shadowy figures standing by Lili's cot, looking at her whilst she was sleeping, and a blanketing feeling of total love and warmth accompanied them. I truly belive it was her grandfather and great grandfather saying hello.
