In the midst of contacting various suggestions our members have made (no luck so far! it takes a special kind of scholar/author to want to do an online 'do'), I'm delighted to announce our Symposion guest for July, 2007.
In initial work on the Decennalia, it occurred to us that we really ought to have a speaker who could really address not only the nuts and bolts of AncientSites/AncientWorlds' history in particular, but the whole online community historical-video-gaming shtick with authority. To my knowledge, AW is one of the very few sites that has survived ten years on the web with a largely sticky membership and surely on one of the net's most arcane topics.
Therefore I'm just thrilled to announce that a genuine expert in these arcane topics will be our Symposion guest in July - a certain Jot Ariston, founder of AncientSites/AncientWorlds, and (for those who don't know!) a genuine authority and published author on the whole online community world.
Thanks, Jot! To have the chance to ask all our questions at one go is going to be a BLAST.
