It had been several hours since he had simply walked out of the barracks where his master Verrius Valerius had left him to train with the gladiator Felis. Evidently no one had noticed that he was missing or perhaps no one cared? He was sure it was the former and not the latter. He had thoroughly enjoyed his adventure so far but now he was getting hungry. Maybe he should just go home. He doubted if Verrius would punish him. The blame would most likely be put upon the gladiator. He knew that what he had done was wrong but the urge to do it was too powerful to resist.
