KC, I couldn't agree more. Our freedom of thought is conditioned and we don't even start to know by what factors; even the words we use are conditioners, and that is why some words are not adequately translated into other languages.
Learning foreign languages opens doors to other ways of thinking. It should open the way to tolerance. Or at least to the sort of wisdom which is the opposite of bigotry. Perhaps?
