In regards to the message left at my home. I think that you are under mining the group by not allowing little things to take place. I officially removed any BAD post and will pull myself out of the group so you dont feel pressured to NIT PICK every detail. Thank you for the opportunity to RP.
Sincerely,
Lost
Dear LOST,
Hi there! Just a note to say that your exuberant posts are a nice addition to the group. However, we need to get a real plotline going. I'm not sure what the two of you intend to do, and am not sure how to fit your romantic encounter at the party into the general framework at RPR. Can you let me know what direction you are intending to go?
There is a slight problem, however. The set up so far is that Senator Domitius is giving a private party. So there would be no waiters, there would be only household slaves belonging to the senator. (Sometimes guests brought a personal slave or two, who also helped out on occasions such as this.) I'm afraid that you need to do a bit of research on Rome in this era. Wine was stored in large amphorae, not bottles. It was decanted into pitchers for serving.
I'm still working on trying to find good links for this type of research. In the meantime, maybe you can find a copy of "Handbook to Life in Ancient Rome" by Lesley and Roy Adkins. It's not totally accurate, but it has a lot of nice details and useful information.
