    The majority will say, To survive but Epicureans will reply that food can be a pleasure, and that eating should be enjoyed.

    Nowadays health issues have changed how food is considered. Katerina Clouds has already brought this up briefly, although she is also, in the Epicurean tradition, concerned with beauty and taste.

    But don't you all know those people who have become so obsessed with health foods that they seem to eat only if "it's good for you" without a thought for the pleasure you can get out of it?

    Please don't misunderstand me, I am not advocating food that "is bad for you" - only that one may take pleasure in eating strawberries because they are lovely and fragile and taste good, and not just because they may have minerals or vitamins...
