Yes, I'm back. Current fish status:

All six African cichlids have survived over a year of life. The tank is doing good, but I need to clean it more often.

There's been an overturn in the betta population here and at work. Right now I have two at home, and one at work, all new as of the fall and winter. One other at work from the original population has survived (last spring I'd given it to a co-worker when she needed some cheering up), but that one is no longer mine. I'd lost my own betta at work when I went on vacation. When I came back he was belly up and I think someone added work tap water to the bowl, but no one 'fessed up.
