The Tsalagi are known for their double-wall basketry made from a variety of materials, (cane, whie oak, honeysuckle and red maple) clay pottery, gourd items and river cane ("brakes") objects which include everything from basketry to flutes. River cane is the only American bamboo and was once abundant, but like so many of our natural resources, now needs to be restored. More on these topics to come!
