When I helped beta-test AncientSites back in the spring of '97 (yup, ten years ago), I had to pick two names - Aelius was one of the very first of the 3-4 Roman names available. But I wasn't sure if I couldn't be both Hellene and Roman. I've wanted to get to Crete all my life (haven't made it yet) and I knew the name of a town named Heraklion - hence, Heraklia.
FWIW, this is a way of saying, I've always loved both Hellas AND Rome. I am very honored.
