Just got home from seeing 300. The thing that struck me after watching the movie is that it is not as bloody or violent as many reviews report it to be. It must be that dishonorable, cowardly Liberals wish to make a political statement about a movie which is as political as Band of Brothers was.
The cgi and bluescreening in this movie are excellent. The dialog was ok. A bit hokey at times, but it fit. Was disappointed that Leonidas did not say "Molon labe" in (ancient) Greek. The combat scenes reminded me of watching Olympic rhythmic gymastics. The striking color of the crimson robes combined with the change of tempo had me thinking I was watching a ballet rather than the battle of Thermopylae.
Overall, a pretty good movie. Leo's wife gets the lion's share of the best lines in the movie which was cool. But in the end when Leonidas and the noble 300 die I had to fight back the tears,
Hooyah!
