Vincenzo had been called at two in the morning by Earl "Hymie" Weiss, a Polish guy, now one of the leaders of the gang of the North Siders, formerly led by Dion O'Banion who was killed by The Gennas in 1924.
"Hey Vinny, there's gonna be a 'dance' with the Gennas in the Cicero Avenue and we're hiring some muscle, are you up for the gig? all the O'Donnell bunch will go." said Weiss with a marked Polish accent, Vincenzo had being helped by Weiss when he had messed up with his brother's girlfriend and had to escape, in the mob life you don't refuse helping a friend that helped you in the past, so Vincenzo accepted.
Minutes later he met Weiss and lots of the North Siders and West and South O'Donnells, lots of Thompson Submachine Guns or 'Tommy Guns' were ready for acction; Spike O'Donnell, leader of the South Side O'Donnells was there, he had tryed to take over some the Saltis-McErlane (allies of Torrio-Capone gang) territory in 1923 but he had failed terribly, now was time for a payback.
They had discovered a warehouse where the Gennas were holding their cheaply made whisky, poorly filtered, it usually contained wood alcohol which may cause blindness or death, hard to believe it was in such demand among the Chicagoans, they sold it 6 bucks per gallon; So the plan was waitting for the trucks of whisky to arrive and gun them down with all the cars protecting them.
Vincenzo was not strange to shoot the Gennas in 1925, just a year before, he had teamed with Weiss and Bugs Moran to kill 'Bloody Angelo' Genna, Angelo was on his way to make a payment for a house when he was hit in a car to car drive thru shooting, then Weiss and Vincenzo had pull up and double shoot Angelo, it had being them The Genna Brothers who had set Vincenzo's alcohol werehouse afire back in 1923, those Sicilian rats will soon pay for it, for now Vincenzo and the others will have to wait hidden in the buildings.
